Where have we been???
Wow our last post was in April. What a busy Spring and Summer.
May 2009 - Charmaine went to the Philippines for the first time in 25 years.
She saw her aunt and cousins she's never met before.
What an amazing trip that was. Fast but fun.
Have you ever seen Charmaine on a horse?
Check out the pictures on Charmaine's Facebook account.
June - Sean and Charmaine went to a Padres Game with The Bru Crew that ended after 18 innings. It was a long game and the Padres won, thank goodness! Also in June Charmaine's sister Chanel and nephew came for a visit. Sean had fun making a video of Branden playing with Sumo. Check it out.
And we can't forget what else happened in June!!! Sean asked Charmaine to marry him and she said 'Yes'! Going to the chapel, gonna get married.
July - Boy was July jam packed with travels and a move to San Elijo. Sean and Charmaine went on their first vacation together, JAMAICA! No problem, mon.
Again pictures are posted in Charmaine's Facebook account.
The weather was amazing, the excursions were fun, and we made new friends.
Next trip, Sacramento to celebrate Charmaine's dad's 50th birthday. Yes folks he just turned 50. Amazing! Once back from Sacramento Charmaine and Sean moved from Carlsbad to San Elijo, about 15 mins inland. The new place is a 3 story town home in an amazing neighborhood.
August - Watch Wicked with the Bru Crew and dinner at the Yardhouse. Fun place and a new favorite Brew - Rogue Brown Hazelnut Ale. Yummy!! Birthday Month!!! Charmaine celebrated her 31st birthday and Sean celebrated his 29th birthday. Birthday dinner at Benihana, Padres game with the Howells (thanks Jenn & Bryan), then Disneyland to celebrate Madison's 5th Birthday! We got to enjoy the day with The Knight Family and Mr. & Mrs. Flansbaum. Lastly in August ... Sean and Charmaine picked up their new puppy Short Round aka Shorty.
September - And here we are in September. Have you caught your breath yet? Shorty has definitely changed the routine. The first couple weeks were rough with wake up calls at 12:30am, 2:30am and 5:30am to let him go potty. He's now able to make it through the night but is up and ready to go by 5:45am every morning. Shorty is also helping with the exercise. Walks around the neighborhood and to the dog park 2-3 times a day. Sean enjoys that because he always finds someone new to talk to.
Another Bru Crew Adventure - Ocean Fishing!! What a fun day on the water. Unfortunately our group of 14 was only able to catch 5 fish, Sean being one of the talented ones, or maybe just one of the lucky ones. After the trip, dinner at the Brubaker's house to cook up the fish. That was a fun day!
Life should start to slow down a little but to keep updated check out Sean and Charmaine's Facebook accounts. Talk to you all soon.

Exciting April
Hello folks, and welcome to another episode of "The Adventures of Sean and Charmaine!" This months episode brings you suspense, romance, drama, yadda yadda yadda. Alright, so maybe we're not the craziest couple in the world but we do our best to live as exciting a life as we can. April was a crazy month for us. A lot of travel to Northern California mixed in with fun events here in Southern California.
Let's set the 'Way-Back-Machine' to April 4th, 2009. We finally got to see one of Sean's favorite bands live at an amazing spot called BellyUp. The band was John Brown's Body, a very cool reggae group that combine old Jamaica sounds with dance rythms. Speaking of Jamaica, we booked a 4th of July weekend there through the Sandals resort! We're going to Jamaica boieeeeee!!!! We couldn't be more stoked and that means Charmaine has quite a couple of months of travel planned as she is going to the Philippines in late May as well!
Sean took video of the concert.
Ok ok, back on track... next during April we traveled up to South Lake Tahoe to see Charmaine's sister Candice get married to her love Josh. It was a great weekend full of family, fun, a wedding only Candice and Josh could throw and casinos! We didn't make squat! We lost money can you believe it.... Oh wait, it would be crazier to make money, not lose it. In addition, Sean's two younger brothers Steve and Matt and his brother in law Tim were at the same casinos on the same weekend and Sean got to see them too! A little Sacramento after party bbq followed that weekend and then it was back to Carlsbad.
Sean had to go right back up to the bay area for a funeral in the following week so you could say he was pretty burnt out from all the driving. The rest of the month was just business as usual with Sean and Charmaine occasionally have people over for a drink and to jam on the Guitar Hero band game. The band's name is "Impulse" in the spirit of the impulse buy that the game was... yeah, Sean is not allowed to shop without Charmaine present any more :)
Stay tuned as next month we will let you know how Charmaine's trip to the Philipines went and much more! Take care!

March Madness?

Although nothing insane comes to mind when thinking about what went down for us in March there was one underlying theme, "family." Not only were we able to visit a lot of Sean's family in the bay area, we actually adopted a kid of our own this month. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Sumo the cat. We know, we know.... A CAT?!?!?! But, this isn't jus
In addition to add
! Good times. Well, that's it for March, hope you all are enjoying the extra sunlight and we are sure you will enjoy next months post as big things are in store for April to include concerts, weddings, and who know what else???

February Adventures

Another month has past and what a busy month it was. We enjoyed a nice warm sunny day at the San Diego Zoo to celebrate Valentine's Day. The best attraction would have to be the Panda Bears, a mama bear and her baby. After a 10 minute wait in line to see them, they stayed out in their play yard long enough for us to take several photos and then off to their cave they went. After the zoo, we headed home to cook up an amazing lobster and steak dinner. Chef Sean in the house!
After Valentine's Day? It was off to Sacramento for Charmaine! A week with family and friends, the pictures say it all! Meanwhile, Sean worked is butt off in Los Angeles getting the "wins!"
And finally, the latter days of February brought our city of Carlsbad good old sunshine. A day at the beach and a nice start to a beautiful tan! Lets not forget dinner with friends. We spent Saturday Feb 28th with some old friends and new alike in La Jolla, CA. Nothing is better to Sean than an Italian restaurant with a background singer/pianist doing obscure Radiohead covers! It was "Name that Tune" night for him. With March finally upon us, many more adventures lie ahead! Stay tuned.....

Carlsbad Half Marathon
Yes the run was tough, but we knew what to expect thanks to the 10 mile run we did a few weekends back. We didn’t do as well as we’d hoped to do, finishing in 2 hrs and 49 mins. Jenn Marsh finished in 2 hrs and 25 mins. Dustin finished in 1 hr and 30 mins.
The course had a lot of elevation changes, there were some pretty steep hills to have to run up. There was feeling pain in our ankles, knees, and hips. Breathing was good until the last mile. But we were able to sprint a little at the end. We didn’t listen to music during the run so it was a lot of talking to oneself and a lot of Sean pumping us up. It was a tough race, but we recommend that everyone should try it once, its such a huge feeling of accomplishment. There were about 8k runners/walkers there. It was truly inspiring to see people of all ages and sizes trying to accomplish the same goal as us! And the spectators were great.
We'll be taking a break from long distance running, probably only running 2-3 miles for exercise. The focus now is to drop some serious pounds so we’ll be hitting the weight machines and running just for cardio. We’ll definitely do some 5k and some 10k races this year, but probably not until the Spring.
We hope this inspires you to keep up the hard work you’ve all been doing to be healthy and know that if we can run a ½ marathon so can you!
And special thanks to Sean for being there by Charmaine's side the whole time. Thank you for always looking out for her and not letting her fail. This was definately a team effort (otherwise Sean would have smoked this race and been done a least a half hour earlier than Charmaine).

Happy New Year!
With sand everywhere the crew headed back to the apartment. Kait was able to catch a few ZZZ, while the girls found many many many ways to entertain themselves with coasters. (Sean and Charmaine were lacking some toys). Sean made dinner and everyone chowed down the awesome mini sliders with basil mayo. Even Tim enjoyed them! Another surprise? A quick visit by Julianne and Will to say hi to the Knights and check out Sean and Charmaine’s diggs. The adventure continues!
