Yes the run was tough, but we knew what to expect thanks to the 10 mile run we did a few weekends back. We didn’t do as well as we’d hoped to do, finishing in 2 hrs and 49 mins. Jenn Marsh finished in 2 hrs and 25 mins. Dustin finished in 1 hr and 30 mins.
The course had a lot of elevation changes, there were some pretty steep hills to have to run up. There was feeling pain in our ankles, knees, and hips. Breathing was good until the last mile. But we were able to sprint a little at the end. We didn’t listen to music during the run so it was a lot of talking to oneself and a lot of Sean pumping us up. It was a tough race, but we recommend that everyone should try it once, its such a huge feeling of accomplishment. There were about 8k runners/walkers there. It was truly inspiring to see people of all ages and sizes trying to accomplish the same goal as us! And the spectators were great.
We'll be taking a break from long distance running, probably only running 2-3 miles for exercise. The focus now is to drop some serious pounds so we’ll be hitting the weight machines and running just for cardio. We’ll definitely do some 5k and some 10k races this year, but probably not until the Spring.
We hope this inspires you to keep up the hard work you’ve all been doing to be healthy and know that if we can run a ½ marathon so can you!
And special thanks to Sean for being there by Charmaine's side the whole time. Thank you for always looking out for her and not letting her fail. This was definately a team effort (otherwise Sean would have smoked this race and been done a least a half hour earlier than Charmaine).

wup, wup!!..good job, well done =)
